If it clicks off cold, from a full stop, having sat unused overnight, heat is less likely and the diagnosis goes elsewhere.
It turns on but the TV shows nothing
This is the case people most often describe as the console being dead, and it usually is not. If you can hear the fan and see a light, the console is running and the picture is the problem.
That is the HDMI path: the cable, the TV input, or the port. Most of the no-signal calls we take turn out to be one of the first two. Console says no signal walks through that in order.
Bring the HDMI cable you use at home. Testing with our cable and yours is how we tell a bad cable from a bad port in front of you.
